When cooking becomes an addiction, it is hard to avoid spending time perfecting your cooking. I have had a cooking addiction for about a week now, usually I am not a fan of cooking. If I told my mother this she would say it is your age getting to you lol. Seriously I think I have just realised how fun it can be just cooking your meals yourself. This way you know what you are eating and you can avoid the nasty fat items. There are tons of ways to cook delicious healthy meals. All it take is time and effort, if you spend a little extra on your meals you can get it to taste better with the healthy touch to it. Today is Sunday, Sundays is normally roast for most people. I decided to make Fried up chicken up on the stove, this way my toddler would enjoy his meal as well. I only made this meal for my 20 months old toddler, he loves chicken. He does get bored of food easily so I have to make him different types of food, my little one is a man with flavours. He knows his flavoured food compared to the plain food people would normally feed children. He can eat from curries to roasted chicken with mixed spices and herbs. I think he is the reason I love cooking, it is important to feed them well now as they will pick up on their eating habits.

Recipe:

Chicken x2 Drumsticks

SMALL onion x1

Spring Onions, amount depends.

Tomato Purée

Mixed Herbs

MILD curry powder (Optional)

Butter or Olive oil. ( Used butter because its for my toddler)

Lets cook!!

  1. Get your chicken and make small cuts all around the drumsticks. I would say 3 cuts on all the way around in total 12 cuts on each leg.

  2. Make a little paste with tomato purée, mixed herbs and curry powder. There after apply the paste on the chicken. Make sure the paste going in the cuts of the chicken we made earlier. - Leave the chicken in the fridge.

  3. Cut your onions, spring onions out.. you could add other vegetables.

  4. Heat the pan up and get your chicken out and fry it with the butter. You can see the colour would change and the butter would cook in between the cuts of the chicken we made. Fry under low heat! ( Increase heat according to the chickens colour). We don't want to undercook the chicken.

  5. After the chicken seem half cooked add the onions and spring onions. Fry everything together don't burn the onions, they have to cook but still be soft.

  6. Fry everything on high heat and you are done. If you want it more as a roast then stick it in the over. - And the chicken is done, serve it with white rice and maybe a little salad on the side.

Please bare in mind I made this for my toddler so the items were limited.

Fried tasty Chicken seasoned in mixed herbs, colouring, a little curry powder, tomato puree with fried onions, spring onions. Served with white rice and cucumbers.
